A manufacturing district, designated by the letter M, is a zoning district in which manufacturing uses, most commercial uses and some community facility uses are permitted. Profit-driven rezonings from manufacturing to residential or mixed-use (Mx), as well as speculative practices, threaten M zones and the jobs and businesses that require manufacturing zoned land to stay in business.
