Zoning Text Amendments are changes to the text of the Zoning Resolution – the actual written rules for different zoning districts. Text Amendments on their own do not require the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure, but in practice, the Department of City Planning refers Zoning Text Amendments to the Community Board for review and Zoning Text Amendments still require approval by City Council. Zoning Text changes are often paired with Zoning Map changes as part of a rezoning.
